Well its that time of the year again, Campzone is upon us and we're already into day four of the spectacular event. What is Campzone? I hear you ask. Well Campzone is the world's biggest outdoor vacation where gamers compete with each other out of tents and caravans. The computers and gaming consoles are connected to each other using a Local Area Network and internet connection. Who said gamers never get out much.
Campzone offers gamers the chance to combine camping and gaming, into one fun filled, action packed 11 days. The event is held every year on a large field in Oirschot, Netherlands, and has become a hugely popular event drawing large crowds each year. There are tons of activities and games to suit every talent and genre. From popular arcade games like StepMania, to PC games like Team Fortress 2, there's something for everyone to enjoy. There are competitions as well, to prove to everyone that you've got what it takes to be the best. There are also some other games and activities you can participate in, that don't involve a console.
As usual, Gamer Radio Initiative will be there at the heart of all the action, so if you're in the area, swing by and say hello.

Release Date: Out Now
Recently I had the opportunity to try out the world of Defiance on a free weekend. Having been a close fan of the show since it released in April just after the game launched, I was thrilled to get a chance to test drive this game. Would it meet up to the hype and media surrounding it? Would it spoil or enhance my viewing of the show? Would I even like the game at all?
Having spent the large part of a weekend on testing out the game, trying everything I could in a short space of time to get a full feeling for the game. After several (I lost count) hours playing, I had to admit, I am thoroughly hooked. There are several minor grumbles I have about the game, but overall I think it has been done brilliantly. There are some noticeable similaritities between Defiance and RIFT, another big game by Trion Worlds, but overall the game has it's own unique character. I'm hopeful that with more time, people in game will be a bit more talkative, instead of running around in silence. It is after all, more of an MMO than a first person shooter. It delicately balances both elements into one game style. The idea itself isn't unique, there are one or two others that have done this before, but the way it's being done in Defiance only lends itself more to the gameplay.
